Health Canada is in charge of assisting Canadian residents sustain and develop their health. We have the national health insurance program, which has been put in place to make sure that all residents have reasonable access to medical and physician services on a prepaid basis. Although each province might seem to have their own health insurance plans, all these form the national program that consists of 13 interlocking provincial health insurance plans

As soon as you arrive in Canada, apply for a health card for you and each of your family members. Different provinces have different waiting times, so find out what temporary health coverage you can get before you receive your health card. You must do this within 5 days of arrival.

Finding a dentist
In most cases, your provincial health card does not cover dental care. You will have to pay for your own treatments, unless you have a private dental insurance coverage. To find a dentist in your area.
